AVO
Criminal Law – AVO
You may need an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) to protect you where: someone has hurt you, you are scared that someone will hurt you, or someone is intimidating harassing or stalking you.
In order to obtain an AVO you need to show that you fear the person it is being taken out against, and that this fear is based on reasonable grounds.
An Apprehended Violence Order can be made one of two ways:
- By the Police (police application)
- By you personally through the local court (private application)
Whether you wish to take out an AVO, and would like representation at court, or you have had an AVO taken out against you that you do not agree with, the team at Benjamin & Dawson Lawyers can assist you. Contact us now for an obligation free discussion.
